5.6 mln Russians used MNP in 3 years

Telecompaper informs: About 5.596 million telephone numbers were switched to other mobile networks using the Mobile Number Porting (MNP) service in Russia since the service launched in Russia until 1 May, reports Comnews.ru. The figure made up more than 2 percent of the total active mobile subscriber base, which amounted to 255.59 million at the end of 2016, according to data from AC&M Consulting. MNP service was launched in Russia on 1 April 2014. Around 11,200 applications for the use of the MNP were submitted daily in the first quarter of this year, up by 3,100 applications year-on-year.

Telecompaper informs: A total of 203,719 subscribers used Mobile Number Porting (MNP) in Kazakhstan in 2016, according to statistics from the central MNP data base. The number of net connections to the network of Tele2 Kazakhstan over MNP amounted to 37,015 and the figure for Altel was 2,551. Beeline Kazakshtan and Kcell had negative figures of 5,997 and 62,227 respectively.

Russia sees growth in mobile number portings in Q2

Telecompaper informs: Russian telecommunications R&D company CNIIS, the operator of the database for mobile number porting, transferred RUB 10.4 million to the public services fund in the second quarter of this year. The amount increased for the fourth consecutive quarter. The Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media claims that the increase is related to growing demand for the MNP service. MNP was introduced in Russia in December 2013, and the country passed 1 million numbers transferred to other operators over MNP in February 2015. The milestone of 3 million numbers was exceeded earlier this March. The average number of portings each month 110,000 until 30 March and reached 200,000 numbers in April-July of this year.

Tele2 Kazakhstan leads in porting gains

Telecompaper informs: Over 99,000 mobile subscribers had used the mobile number porting service in Kazakhstan by 12 April, reports Profit.kz citing a statement from The Committee of Communications. The service wasn introduced in Kazakhstan on 1 January. A total 36,859 subscribers had left the network of mobile operator Kcell, Beeline Kazakshtan lost 18,240 customers, 9,459 subscribers left the network of Tele2 Kazakhstan, and Altel lost 8,123 users. In total 24,926 users joined the network of Tele2 Kazakhstan, 19,996 customers connected to the Altel network, 17,599 subscribers chose the network of Beeline Kazakhstan, and 10,160 subscribers connected to the Kcell network.

Telecompaper informs: Russian federal telecommunications agency Rossvyaz announced that over 3 million telephone numbers have been transferred to other networks over the Mobile Number Porting (MNP) service in Russia since the launch of the service, reports Comnews.ru. The 2 million mark was passed five months ago. The MNP service was launched in Russia in December 2013, with a transitional period until April 2014.
