Portuguese number portings down to 58,765 in February

Telecompaper informs: A total of 58,765 numbers were ported in Portugal in February, compared to 68,709 the previous month, taking the total ported since the service was launched to 8.37 million, according to figures from the National Communications Authority (Anacom). The total includes numbers that were ported more than once. Excluding multiple portings of the same number, the total was 4.39 million numbers. During February, 43,015 mobile numbers and 15,719 fixed numbers were ported to new operators.

According to the Federal Communications Agency (ROSSVYAZ) total 7.9 million telephone numbers in Russia have been transferred to other networks using the Mobile Number Porting (MNP) service as of 19 February.

Spain ports 6.5 mln mobile lines in 2017

Telecompaper informs: A total of 6.5 million mobile numbers were ported in Spain in 2017, around 15 percent more than in 2016, according to the latest figures from regulator CNMC. There were just over 52 million active mobile (voice, broadband and M2M) lines on 31 December 2017, up 1.7 percent year on year, with the penetration rate coming in at 111.8 lines per 100 inhabitants. Another 622,233 lines were ported in December, around 26.2 percent more than a year earlier, said the regulator.

Chilean ported numbers hit 12 million since 2012

Telecompaper informs: A total of 12.04 million mobile and fixed numbers have been ported in Chile since the introduction of number portability in January 2012, according to the latest update from telecommunications regulator Subtel. In September alone a total of 375,316 numbers were ported, some 28 percent more than a year earlier. 
In terms of operators, WOM attracted three times more users than in its nearest competitor, adding 59,212 new users compared to Claro’s 17,256. Movistar (4,497), VTR (3,748) and Virgin Mobile (939) also had a positive month, mostly at the expense of Entel, which posted a negative net portability figure of -84,150. In the fixed telephony segment, Entel, Claro, VTR and Redvoiss gained 2,400, 1,518, 1,353 and 613 customers respectively.

Tunisian operators sign number portability SLA

Telecompaper informs: The Tunisian telecom authority INT (Instance Nationale des Telecommunications) announced that the country’s main operators have signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) committing to a set of quality standards for the provision of fixed and mobile number portability. The agreement was signed by Tunisie Telecom, Ooredoo, Orange and MVNO Lycamobile Tunisia.
